Please, please, puh-LEEZE let the people who are fleecing…er, enticing folks with this AMAZING OFFER — the BEST OFFER! — covertly be black lesbian abortionists.
Because, if there are going to be grifters attached to this shady administration, I’d just as soon they be our grifters.
In a related thought: I really should start a right-wing pro-GOP church which preaches the Prosperity Gospel and then secretly give all the proceeds to Planned Parenthood.

Aeromexico’s advert in response to Trump

A public service announcement (PSA) which comes from a corporation with nearly $3 billion in revenue is automatically suspect on some levels, but I will give Aeromexico (and its ad agency Ogilvy and Mather Mexico) major props for a powerful statement nonetheless.

This ad hits all the right notes.

A Priest and an Imam meet for tea

All in 00:01:20.

Nicely done.

Great moments in Star Wars marketing

I will eventually get sick of all this, but if truth be told I would totally be interested in any guy who brought this out for our breakfast coffee.

Study: Chantix not improving overall stop smoking rates

Wondering why your doctor keeps prescribing Chantix and you still cannot quit?

Read on:

The introduction of a new prescription smoking-cessation aid, varenicline, in 2006 has had no significant impact on the rate at which Americans age 18 and older successfully quit smoking, according to a study led by researchers at University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.

The findings, published online Aug. 17 in Tobacco Control, suggest that the primary effect of varenicline (marketed as Chantix) has been to displace the use of older tobacco addiction therapies, such as nicotine patches and the antidepressant, bupropion (Zyban).

Moreover, in this population analysis, researchers said varenicline’s enhanced effectiveness in helping smokers quit, compared with other cessation aides, appeared to be short-lived, lasting for three months, after which time varenicline users no longer had higher rates of success.

“We had hoped the new pharmacotherapy would help more people quit, but this is not what is happening,” said lead author Shu-Hong Zhu, PhD, a professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health and director of Center for Research and Intervention in Tobacco Control at UC San Diego. “Instead, varenicline is replacing other options like the patch, without having any significant population-level impact on quitting success.”

Put another way: If you do not quit smoking on Chantix within the first three months, it may be time to move onto something else.

Especially since the FDA required only last March that Pfizer, the drug’s maker, add a new black box warning to the packaging for its dangerous and numerous physical and psychological side effects — including on those who drink any alcohol during its use.

Despite the fact that many pharmaceuticals are useful and worthy — I have had my life saved twice by American pharmaceuticals and will be forever grateful to the scientists at universities around the world whose original basic and clinical research make these things possible — the largest Wall Street pharma companies are only your ally insofar as doing so allows them to make money off you.

They are slaves to the bottom line as dictated by large institutional investors. When your goals and those investment goals meet, wonderful. You’re all set. But when those goals diverge, the bottom line most likely will always win out over your best health interests.

A non-traditional real estate market deserves a non-traditional sales video

Looking for a not-all-that-big of a house in San Francisco in the $2 million dollar range?

I guess the market is such that owners can afford to list things in non-traditional ways, including this video where local drag luminaries Mercedez Munro and Katya Smirnoff-Skyy lead you on a tour that is all-at-once elegant and silly.
